Information Systems and Operations

The Sustainable Environmental Management Information System
This system collects data that is used to draw up environmental action plans, support decision-making in sustainable environmental management, and promote environmentally-friendly design.
For example, Ricoh wanted to reduce their resource input by 3.2 times, so they used this System to help them see what they could do to achieve that goal. (Which they did: in 2016 they reduced input levels by 3.7 times.)

Environmental Impact Information System
This system collects and processes data on environmental impact caused by each operational process—including procurement, design, manufacturing, transportation, use, maintenance/services, and recycling. Besides identifying the environmental impact of overall operations, the system automatically collects environmental data from the operational flow of each process, and such data is used to support PDCA in environmental improvement activities carried out at each process.
(PDCA stands for Plan Do Check Act and is used in business for the control and continual improvement of processes and products.)

Critical data assets are data on environmental impact. Both these systems are used to “improve the quality of living and drive sustainability.” Ricoh's key operations and production processes are  research, procurement, design, manufacturing, transportation, maintenance/services, and recycling. For Ricoh, quality management probably means making sure that operations and production processes are being done as efficiently and sustainably as possible.
